Medical Students

If you are an active medical school student facing unexpected hardship, the Physicians Aid Association may be able to help. The PAA helps provide emergency financial assistance to students in need by providing funds through four Los Angeles County medical schools. Students seeking help must apply through their Medical school’s Dean’s office.

• Qualified applicants must be experiencing an unanticipated and temporary significant need.
• The student must be enrolled in:
  • Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science
  • David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA
  • Kaiser Permanente Bernard J. Tyson School of Medicine
  • Keck School of Medicine of USC
  • Western University College of Osteopathic Medicine
• This is grant-based aid, not loans—recipients aren’t expected to repay.
• For those struggling financially, the funds can help with basic expenses such as housing, utilities, food.
• Students seeking help must apply through their Medical school’s Dean’s office.
