If you are a medical resident facing unexpected hardship, the Physicians Aid Association may be able to help. We provide emergency financial assistance to help individuals and their families overcome crisis and regain stability when they feel like everything is falling apart.

• Qualified applicants must be experiencing an unanticipated and temporary significant need.
• This is grant-based aid, not loans—recipients aren’t expected to repay.
• For those struggling financially, the funds can help with basic expenses such as housing, utilities, food.
• The financial assistance is available to medical residents only.
• Applicants must practice and reside in Los Angeles County.

We accept applications for assistance on a rolling basis, based on demonstrated need and available funding.
